- Sunday walks are usually about 10 miles, unless stated otherwise
- Hill walks involve 500m – 1,000m of ascent, may include rough ground and require appropriate clothing
- Evening walks are usually followed by pub, including meal option. Summer: 2 hour walk; winter: 90 minute walk – bring torch!
- Mid-week walks are organised on an ad hoc basis and notified to members by email.
Safety: An EGONS event is like a group of friends going out together. The organiser will co-ordinate the event and roughly plan the route. Each person is responsible for his or her own safety at all times. See our Health and Safety guidelines. Sometimes there may be a risk of serious injury. If you join in you take the risk upon yourself, so you should assess whether the activity is suitable for you, wear appropriate clothing, and preferably carry a map & compass. Organisers: consider whether you need EGONS equipment. Cyclists are responsible for safe and legal riding and in choosing whether to wear a helmet and hi-viz clothing.
